 C. Procedure
 S 862-007
 (1)  
Stop the ground air source.

 S 032-008

 (2)
Remove the air supply duct from the ground service connector.

 (a)  
Turn the air supply duct to align the fasteners with the slots on the flange of the ground service connector.

 (b)  
Remove the air supply duct.

 (c)  
Close the cover on the ground service connector.

 

 (3)  
Close the access doors.

 6.  Supply Conditioned Air with a Cooling Pack__________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  Electric power and a pneumatic air source are required to operate the cooling packs.
 NOTE: It is recommended that the conditioned air to cool the
____ airplane on the ground be supplied from a ground air source, when practical, as an alternative to operating the cooling packs (SL 747-21-082).
 (2)  
Pneumatic air can be supplied by the engines, by a pneumatic ground cart, or by the APU.

 (3)  
The air conditioning packs are operated by switches in the flight compartment on the P5 overhead panel.

 (4)  
It is acceptable to stop pack 1 and pack 3, and then start the ground air source before pack 2 is stopped. When conditioned air from the ground air source is available, then stop pack 2.

 (5)  
It is acceptable to start pack 2 before the ground air source is stopped. When the conditioned air from pack 2 is available, then stop the ground air source.

 (6)  
It is not acceptable to operate pack 1 or pack 3 together with a ground air source.

 (1)  
Apply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Make sure that all three PACK switches on the P5 overhead panel are set to the OFF position.

 (3)  
Apply pneumatic pressure (AMM 36-00-00/201).

 (4)  
Set the TRIM AIR switch on the P5 overhead panel to the ON position.

Set all of the zone temperature selectors on the temperature control panel to AUTO.

 (6)  
Set the HI FLOW switch to OFF.

 WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THERE IS AN EXIT FOR THE CONDITIONED AIR. ACCIDENTAL CABIN PRESSURIZATION CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (7)  Make sure one of the two pressurization outflow valves is open or at least one airplane door is open.

 CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE A COOLING PACK AND A GROUND AIR SOURCE TOGETHER
_______ FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. A COOLING PACK CANNOT CONTROL THE AIR TEMPERATURE IF YOU ALSO OPERATE A GROUND AIR SOURCE AT THE SAME TIME. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT IF YOU OPERATE A COOLING PACK AND A GROUND AIR SOURCE TOGETHER FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.
 (8) Monitor the EICAS ECS maintenance page (AMM 45-10-00/201).
 (a)  Make sure the turbine bypass valve is approximately 1/3 open
 (0.26 to 0.36).
 (b)  Make sure the ram air inlet and exit doors are in the full open position (0.00 to 0.05).

Set the applicable PACK switch to the NORM position.

 Monitor the EICAS ECS maintenance page.
