WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS IN THE SUBSEQUENT STEP ARE
OPENED. IF THEY ARE NOT OPENED, THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER
BOTTLES COULD RELEASE THEIR CONTENTS AND CAUSE INJURY TO
PERSONEL.
(a) Open these circuit breakers on the main power distribution panel, P6, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE identifiers: 1) 6H6, FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOWER CARGO 2) 6H7, FIRE EXTINGUISHER MN DK CARGO

(b)
Set the CARGO FIRE AFT switch on the P5 overhead panel to the ARMED position.
WARNING:_______KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAR OF THE FLAPPER VALVE DOOR. THE STEP THAT FOLLOWS WILL CAUSE THE FLAPPER VALVE DOOR TO CLOSE.
(c)
Push the RESET switch on the flapper valve assembly.
NOTE: The plunger pin on the solenoid must retract when the
____ RESET switch is pushed. If the plunger pin does not retract, manually push the plunger pin into the solenoid to disengage the valve linkage.
(d)
Set the CARGO FIRE AFT switch on the P5 overhead panel to the OFF position.
(e)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE identifiers and close these circuit breakers: 1) 6H6, FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOWER CARGO 2) 6H7, FIRE EXTINGUISHER MN DK CARGO

(5) Remove the electrical connector from the valve solenoid (left valve
-DV488, right valve - DV489).

Remove the bolt, spacer, washer, and nut (2 locations) from the clamp on the solenoid and remove the clamp.

Remove the bolt, spacer, washer, and nut (2 locations) that hold the solenoid to the bracket and remove the solenoid.

Remove the plunger pin from the solenoid.

C. Procedure
S 432-011
(1)
Install the plunger pin into the solenoid.
S 422-012
(2)
Hold the solenoid in its position and install the bolt through the washer, solenoid, spacer, bracket, and nut (2 locations).

Install the bolts, spacers, washers, and nuts that hold the clamp on the solenoid (2 locations).

Install the electrical connector on the valve solenoid (left valve -DV488, right valve - DV489).

Set the valve to the open position:
