(2) Remove the access panel from the aft bulkhead of the bulk cargo compartment.

(3) Remove the safety screen to get access to the outflow valves.

(4) Clean the outflow valves (Ref 21-31-01/701).

(5) Examine the outflow valves for these conditions: (a) Signs of grease seepage from the gear case. (b) Damage, wear or corrosion on the connecting rods and connecting rod bolts.
(c) (d) (e) (f) Damage, wear or deterioration of the seals.Cracks, erosion, damage or deterioration of the flapper doors.Cracks in the outflow valve frame.Loose nuts on the AC or DC motors or on the outflow valve frame.

(6) Install the safety screen over the outflow valves.

(7) Close the circuit breakers that follow for the left or the right outflow valve:

PRESSURIZATION OUTFLOW VALVES - CLEANING/PAINTING

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure. The task gives instructions to clean the pressurization outflow valves.
B. To get access to the pressurization outflow valves you must go through an access panel on the aft bulkhead of the bulk cargo compartment.

Get access to the outflow valves through the access door on the aft bulkhead of the bulk cargo compartment.

Remove the safety screen.
E. Clean the Valves
S 117-006
(1)
Clean the valve gates and the valve linkage with a cloth or sponge that is moist with solvent. Use alcohol or Brulin Formula - 815 MX mixed 8 to 1 with water.

(2)
If it is necessary, clean the actuator and the potentiometer with a clean cloth that is moist with (SAE)AMS 3160 petroleum solvent.
