 F.  Most of the main deck compartment air leaves the compartment through grilles in the sidewall at floor level and flows into the lower cargo compartment sidewall areas. The air then flows either forward to an overboard valve or aft to the area behind the bulk cargo compartment where the pressurization outflow valves are located. The two outflow valves, controlled by the pressurization control system, are fully open when the airplane is on the ground and modulate in flight to regulate cabin pressure.
 G.  The ventilation system is used to improve cabin air circulation and remove odors from confined spaces. An overboard valve, located adjacent to the nose gear wheel well, is used to improve circulation in the forward section of the airplane.

 H.  Electrical/electronic (E/E) equipment generates heat which must be dissipated by forced air circulation cooling. An independent equipment cooling system provides cooling air for the flight deck panels and the E/E equipment in the forward and center equipment bays. A fan in the forward cargo compartment left sidewall draws air through a screen and air cleaner and exhausts it into the E/E equipment. A second fan draws air from the E/E equipment and exhausts the air either into the forward cargo compartment or overboard.
