Remove the covers from the duct openings.

Put the valve in the duct with the flow arrow pointed aft and install the seals and the clamps (2 locations).
(a) Make sure you turn the valve until the electrical receptacle aligns with the electrical connector.

(3) Clean the bond surfaces of the ground strap on the valve assembly as follows:
(a) Use 400 to 600 grit aluminum oxide sandpaper to prepare the bond surfaces of the ground strap so that all surface finishes are removed and bright metallic bond surfaces are visible. 1) Remove the minimum amount of material necessary to get
bright metallic surface.

(b) Remove metal particles, dirt and any other contaminants from the bond surfaces as follows:
1) 2) 3) Pour clean, uncontaminated B00148 solvent, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), ASTM D740, onto clean BMS15-5, Class A absorbent wipers.Wipe the surfaces with the solvent soaked wiper.Immediately wipe surfaces dry with clean dry wipers until all solvent is removed from the surfaces.
4) Repeat the above three steps until the wiper shows no visible contamination or discoloration.

(4) Install the two bonding jumpers, bolt, three washers, and nut onto the ground strap of the valve.
NOTE:____ Make sure the two bonding jumpers, bolt, washers, and the nut are clean.
(a) (b) Tighten the nut to a torque of 60 to 65 inch-pounds (6.8 to 7.3 Newton-meters) .Make sure that the resistance between the ground strap and the bonding jumpers is a maximum of 0.01 ohm.

(5) Install the electrical connector on the valve. (a) The aft cargo control valve electrical connector - DV10 (b) The aft cargo override valve electrical connector - DV11.

(6) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel 1) 7H09 CARGO HEAT AFT (b) P415 Power Distribution Center - Right 1) 415L29 AFT CARGO HEAT PWR

(7) Make sure the AFT CARGO HT switch, on the P5 panel, is in the off position.

(8) Do an aft cargo heating system ground test on the CMC CDU (AMM 21-44-00/501). (a) Select <GROUND TEST from the CMC main menu. (b) Select <21 AIR CONDITIONING from the ground test menu. (c) Select <CARGO HEAT SYSTEM from the air conditioning menu. (d) Make sure IN PROGRESS shows on the CMC CDU. (e) Make sure PASS shows on the CMC CDU.

(9) Pressurize the pneumatic system (AMM 36-00-00/201).
