 K. Functional Description - Bulk Cargo Flapper Valves
 (1)  The flapper valves are normally held in the open position by the deenergized flapper valve solenoid. The valves allow the flow of air from the bulk cargo compartment out through the outflow valves. When the cargo fire bottles are discharged into the aft and bulk cargo compartments, the solenoid energizes and allows the hinge spring to snap the door closed.
 L. Operation - Bulk Cargo Flapper Valves
 (1)  
The operation of the bulk cargo flapper valves is automatic.

 (2)  
To reset the flapper valve after the fire bottles have discharged, the cargo fire system should be armed, and then the reset switch should be activated. While holding the reset switch, move the flapper valve to the open position, and then release the reset switch, which will lock the flapper valve open.

 VENTILATION SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A. This procedure has the following tasks:
 (1)  
Forward cargo overboard system ground test.

 (2)  
Lower cargo ventilation fans ground test.

 (3)  
Aft cargo flapper valve and solenoid system operational test.

 (4)  
Lower forward cargo ventilation fans system test.

 (5)  
Lower aft and bulk cargo ventilation fans system test.

 TASK 21-26-00-705-035
 2.  Forward Cargo Overboard System - Ground Test____________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  This test will do a check of the forward cargo overboard valve, and the forward cargo overboard backup valve.

 D. Prepare for the Test

 (1)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Make sure the engines are off.

 (3)  
Make sure the LOWER LOBE CARGO COND AIR FLOW RATE selector on the P461 panel is in the OFF position.

Make sure the packs are off.

 (5)  
Set the GND TESTS switch on the overhead maintenance panel, P461, to the ENABLE position.

 (6)  
Prepare the CDU for the test:

 (a)  
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.

 (b)  
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.

 (c)  
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.

 (d)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.

 (e)  
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <21 AIR CONDITIONING.

 (f)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <21 VENTILATION SYSTEM to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the ventilation system.

 (g)  
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <FWD CARGO OVBD.

 NOTE: If INHIBITED shows above <FWD CARGO OVBD, the test

 will not operate.

 (h)  If INHIBITED shows above <FWD CARGO OVBD 1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to the test prompt. 2) Do the steps shown on the CDU. 3) Push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN to show the ground
 test menu again.
 E.  Forward Cargo Overboard Ground Test

 (1)  Push the LSK that is adjacent to <FWD CARGO OVBD.
