(18) Do a manual operation test (AMM 21-31-01/401)
(a) Push the applicable (MAN L or MAN R) switch-light, on the P5
panel, to the ON position.
(b) Move the OPEN/CLOSE switch, on the P5 panel, to the CLOSE
position.
(c) Make sure the outflow valve position indicator moves to the
closed position.
(d) Move the OPEN/CLOSE switch, on the P5 panel, to the OPEN
position.
(e) Make sure the outflow valve position indicator moves to the
fully open position.
(f) Move the OPEN/CLOSE switch, on the P5 panel, to the CLOSED
position until the outflow valve position, on the EICAS ECS
maintenance page, is between 0.90 and 0.95.
NOTE:____ ON AIRPLANES WITH -23 OR -33 PRESSURE CONTROLLERS,
a valve failure message will show if the outflow valve
is not 90% to 95% fully open when the manual control is
turned off. The controller will not move the outflow
valve to the correct position.
(g) Push the applicable (MAN L or MAN R) switch-light, on the P5
panel, to the off position. S 864-032
(19) Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

INTERFACE CONTROL UNIT (ICU) - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There is a right and a left interface control unit (ICU).
B. The left and the right ICU's are the same and are immediately outboard of each outflow valve.
C. The removal and the installation steps are the same for the left and the right ICU.
D. You must do a test of the ICU after you install it.
E. You can get access to the ICU through a panel in the bulk cargo
compartment aft bulkhead.
