 Make sure that the air/ground relay system is in the ground mode.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS NO BLOCKAGE IN THE VALVE FLAPPER DOORS.
_______ THE AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT OF THE VALVES DURING THE GROUND TEST CAN CAUSE DAMAGE IF THE VALVE FLAPPER DOORS ARE NOT FREE TO MOVE.
 (16) Do a ground test of the cabin pressure control system (CPCS) on a CMC CDU (AMM 21-31-00/501):
 (a)  Make sure the AUTO SELECT switch is set to the NORM position.
 NOTE: The AUTO SELECT switch is on the P5 overhead panel.

 (b) Make sure the MAN L and MAN R switches are set to off.
 NOTE: The MAN L and MAN R switches are on the P5 overhead
____
 panel.

 (c)  
Select <GROUND TEST on the CMC main menu.

 (d)  
Select <21 CABIN PRESSURE from the ground tests menu.

 (e)  
Select <CPCS-A or <CPCS-B from the cabin pressure menu.

 (f)  
Make sure that IN PROGRESS is shown on the CMC CDU.

 (g)  
Make sure PASS is shown on the CMC CDU.

 (17) Do a manual operation test:
 (a)  Push the applicable (MAN L or MAN R) switch-light, on the P5 panel, to the ON position.

 (b)  
Move the OPEN/CLOSE switch, on the P5 panel, to the CLOSE position.

 (c)  
Make sure the outflow valve position indicator moves to the closed position.

 (d)  
Move the OPEN/CLOSE switch, on the P5 panel, to the OPEN position.

 (e)  
Make sure the outflow valve position indicator moves to the fully open position.

 (f)  
Push the applicable (MAN L or MAN R) switch-light, on the P5 panel, to the off position.

 PRESSURIZATION OUTFLOW VALVES - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This task gives instructions for a visual inspection of the pressurization outflow valves. The inspection is done with the valves installed on the airplane.
 B.  The pressurization outflow valves must be examined at regular intervals.
 C.  You get access to the outflow valves through an access door on the aft bulkhead of the bulk cargo compartment.
