FORWARD CARGO COMPARTMENT HEATING - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
_____________________________________________________________
General (Fig. 1)
_______
A. Perforated ducts in the forward cargo compartment floor area receive air from the equipment cooling system to provide heat for the forward cargo compartment. In addition, supplemental air heaters are installed in the heat ducts to ensure compartment temperature does not fall below 40°F (4°C).
B. The heating ducts receive air warmed by passage through the equipment cooling system. The hole pattern in the ducts allows warm air to spray out the sides of the ducts. Flow of air from the equipment cooling system into the forward cargo compartment heating duct is controlled by the equipment cooling system (Ref 21-58-00).
