Instal the nuts, bolts, and washers on the lug at the aft end of the fan.

Install the nuts, bolts, and washers on the lug at the forward end of the fan.

Pull the flex duct over the outboard end of the fan.

Put the inlet screen/check valve assembly with the rubber sleeve in its position and install the fan inlet clamp.

Install the clamps on both ends of the fan.

Install the electrical connector on the fan:
(a)
DB8643 (Forward Fan)

DB8642 (Aft Fan)

(9) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE identifiers and close these circuit
breakers:
(a)
Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel, P180 1) 180H2, LWR FWD CARGO VENT FAN PWR 1 (Forward Fan) 2) 180H5, LWR FWD CARGO VENT FAN PWR 2 (Aft Fan)
(b)
Left Power Distribution Center, P414
1) 414E10, CARGO VENT FWD CONT
D. Do the Installation Test for the Fan

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(2)
Make sure the forward cargo door is fully open.

Make sure the cargo air conditioning flow control switch on the overhead P461 panel is set to OFF.

(4) S 864-056Open, then close this circuit breaker on the main power distribution panel, P6: (a) E34, A/C CONT CARGO - PCA
(5) S 864-057Put the FORWARD CARGO VENT switch on the P86 panel above the cargo door to ON.
(6) S 714-058Make sure the fan operates. (a) Make sure air comes from the ceiling outlets.
(7) S 794-059Examine the fan to duct connections for air leaks. (a) Light leakage is permitted. (b) If the leakage is strong, align the joints and tighten the clamps.
(8) S 864-060Put the FORWARD CARGO VENT switch to OFF.
(9) S 434-039Install the ceiling lining (AMM 25-52-01/401).

Close the forward cargo door.

Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

AFT CARGO VENTILATION FAN - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

A. The aft cargo vent fan is installed on the right-hand side of the aft containerized area at station 1740.
B. To get access to the fan you must remove the compartment sidewall lining.
