A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The adjustment of an emergency exit hatch
(2)
The system test of an emergency exit hatch.

2. Adjust the Emergency Exit Hatch (Fig. 501)

A. General
(1)
This procedure refers to the emergency exit hatch as "the hatch".

Special Tools and Equipment
(1)
A push-pull gage that can measure 0 to 50 lbs.

Procedure
(1)
Remove the lining from the hatch (Ref 52-21-12/401).

(2)
Adjust the hatch vertically.
(a)
Change the thickness of the shims below the lower pivot fitting to move the hatch vertically.
(b)
Adjust the hatch until the stop pins have less than the 0.06 inch dimension shown (Detail B).

NOTE: This dimension is between the axis of the
____ stop pin and the axis of the stop fitting.
