(1)
From in the airplane, remove the hatch.
(a)
Pull down on the release handle.
(b)
Pull the top of the hatch inboard.
(c)
Use the lift handle to pull the hatch up and out of the opening.

(1) If you install a new hatch, remove the lining from the hatch (AMM 52-21-12/401).
NOTE: This is necessary to subsequently adjust the hatch.

Read the decal on the upper surface of the hatch frame to make sure you install the correct hatch in the opening.

Put the hatch in the opening.
CAUTION: HOLD THE HATCH IN A VERTICAL POSITION WHILE THE PIVOT
_______ FITTING ENGAGES THE PIVOT HOOK. IF YOU DO NOT HOLD THE HATCH IN A VERTICAL POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SEAL.
(a)
Engage the pivot fitting with the pivot hook.
(b)
Make sure the bottom edge of the hatch aligns with the sill.

Close and latch the hatch.
(a)
Pull down on the release handle.
(b)
At the same time, push the top of the hatch into the opening.
(c)
Push the release handle up to engage the latches.
(5)
Adjust the hatch if it is new (AMM 52-21-00/501).

NOTE: If you install a used hatch in its initial position,

it is not necessary to adjust it.

(6) Do a test of the hatch (AMM 52-21-00/501).
