Do a check of the adjustment of the latch rollers.
(a)
Disconnect the push rod (12) from the torque tube (16).
(b)
Move the handle mechanism to the closed position.
NOTE: A wrench can help to move the handle mechanism.

See that the latch rollers align correctly with the latch fittings. 1) Put a rig pin through the hole in the latch roller and into
the latch fitting.
(d)
Adjust the control rods if it is necessary to make the latch roller align correctly with the latch fitting. 1) Disconnect the control rod from the latch rod (Detail F). 2) Align the holes in the latch roller with the holes in the
latch fitting. a) Put the rig pin through the holes in the latch roller and into the holes in the latch fitting. 3) Change the length of the control rod until it attaches to the latch rod. 4) Connect the push rod (12) to the torque tube.

Make sure the latch rollers engage the latch fittings correctly.
(a)
Put the clay in the latch fitting.
(b)
Put a layer of Vaseline on the latch roller.
(c)
Close and latch the door.
(d)
Open the door.
(e)
Make sure the clearance between the bottom of the latch roller and the latch fitting is correct.
NOTE: The clay in the latch fitting shows this clearance.

1) The clearance from the bottom of the latch roller to the latch fitting is 0.04 to 0.28 inch.

Open and close the door.
(a)
See that the AFT ENTRY light on the P5 panel comes on when the door is not latched.
(b)
Feel that the door moves freely through the full cycle.
(c)
See that the AFT ENTRY light on the P5 panel is off when the door is latched.
(2)
Open the door to the cocked position.

Do a test of the snubber.
(a)
Try to move the door quickly from the cocked position.
(b)
Feel that the snubber operates to make the door move slowly.
(c)
Move the door slowly from the cocked position.
(d)
Make sure you cannot feel the operation of the snubber.
(e)
Replace the snubber if it does not operate correctly.

Do a check of the torque that is necessary to operate the handle.
(a)
Install the torque wrench C52008-1 on the internal door handle.
(b)
Open the door to the cocked position.
