Use the solvent to remove the sealant on the seal and the door.
(b)
Pull the nylon rods from the retainers.

Prepare to install the Diaphragm-Mechanical Seal.

Remove the used sealant from the door structure.
(a)
Remove loose dirt, grease, or oil with a clean cloth.
(b)
Put solvent on the surface.
(c)
While the solvent is wet, use a clean cloth to make the surface clean.
NOTE: A soft brush can help remove dirt.

Let the surface dry.

Install the Diaphragm-Mechanical Seal

(1) Put the seal in the correct position.
NOTE:____The word TOP is on the top of the seal. The word BOTTOM is on the bottom of the seal.
(a) Make the flap of the seal point outboard.

Install the part of the seal that is between the door and the gates.
(a)
Push the edge of the seal into the retainer.
(b)
Push a nylon rod in one end of the retainer.
NOTE: Liquid soap is a good lubricant for the nylon rods.

(c) Push the other nylon rod in the other end of the retainer.
