A CHECK OF THE LATCH HANDLE
1.
CLOSE AND LATCH THE DOOR.
2.
VISUALLY CHECK THE POSITION OF EACH LATCH ROLLER AS IT ENTERS THE FITTING.
3.
SEE FIG. 514 FOR THE ADJUSTMENT.
NOTE:____ THIS ADJUSTMENT CHANGES
THE FORCE TO RETRACT
THE EXTERNAL HANDLE.
A CHECK OF THE EXTERNAL HANDLE
1.
CLOSE AND LATCH THE DOOR.
2.
PULL THE EXTERNAL HANDLE OUT.
3.
USE A SPRING SCALE TO PUSH THE HANDLE TO THE RETRACTED POSITION.
4.
MEASURE THE FORCE TO RETRACT THE EXTERNAL HANDLE.
5.
SEE FIG. 514 FOR THE ADJUSTMENT.
NOTE:THIS ADJUSTMENT CHANGES THE LATCH ROLLER PATH.

EACH LATCH ROLLER MUST CLEAR THE ENTRY LIP OF ITS LATCH FITTING.
11.
EACH LATCH ROLLER MUST BE IN ITS LATCH FITTING WHEN THE LATCH ROD STARTS TO TURN.
RETRACTION FORCE
12. THE FORCE TO RETRACT THE EXTERNAL HANDLE MUST BE LESS THAN 20 POUNDS.

1.
OPEN THE DOOR.
2.
PUT CLAY IN THE BOTTOM OF EACH LATCH FITTING.
ROLLER3. CLOSE AND LATCH THE DOOR.
5. OPEN THE DOOR.

MEASURE THE DEPTH OF THE CLAY TO FIND THE ROLLER CLEARANCE.

SEE FIG. 515 FOR THE

13. EACH LATCH ROLLER MUST BE
0.04 TO 0.28 INCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE LATCH FITTING.

OPEN THE DOOR.

PUT CLAY ON EACH STOP PAD.
3.
CLOSE AND LATCH THE DOOR.

MUST BE IN THE TARGET ON THE PAD.
5.
LOOK AT THE CLAY TO DO A CHECK OF THE STOP PIN LOCATION ON THE PAD.

MEASURE THE DEPTH OF THE CLAY TO DO A CHECK OF THE STOP PIN DISTANCE FROM
STOP FITTING
THE PAD.

SEE FIG. 511 FOR STOP PIN LOCATION ADJUSTMENT.
