A visual examination of the service doors

A task to examine the pads and the frames in the opening of the forward door.

Put a maintenance stand adjacent to the galley service door (door).
(2)
Open the door.

Visually examine the door structure and mechanism.
(a)
Examine the external skin.
1) Look for cracks.
2) Look for corrosion.

Examine the internal skin.
1) Look for cracks.
2) Look for corrosion.
(c)
Examine the hinge fairings.
1) Look for loose fasteners.
2) Look for fasteners that are not there.
(d)
Examine the internal frames and brackets.
1) Look for cracks.
2) Look for corrosion.
3) Look for loose fasteners.
(e)
Examine the housing of the handle mechanism. 1) Look for cracks. 2) Look for corrosion. 3) Look for loose fasteners.
(f)
Examine the window.
1) Look for cracks.
(g)
Examine the window frame.
1) Look for cracks.
2) Look for corrosion.
(h)
Examine the mechanism that operates the door. 1) Look for cracks. 2) Look for corrosion. 3) Look for worn areas. 4) Look for loose fasteners.
(i)
Examine the latches and the latch rollers.

3) See that the latch rollers are clean and move easily.

Examine the door stop pins and the door stop fittings. 1) Look for cracks. 2) Look for corrosion. 3) See that the stop fittings are clean.
