Make a spotface in the stop fitting to give a 0.002 to 0.012 inch clearance with the bearing plate.
(c)
Prepare the surfaces (Method III) and apply Alodine (AMM 51-21-41/701 and AMM 51-21-21/701).
(d)
Apply the primer (AMM 51-21-99/701).

(5) Bond the bearing plate to the stop fitting with the BMS 5-95 sealant.

Remove the escape slide assembly from the door (Ref 25-61-35/201).

Remove the lining from the door (Ref 52-13-31/401).

Remove the door from the airplane (Ref 52-13-00/401).

Remove the external handle from the door.

Remove the cam plate (10).

Remove the bolts in the recess for the external handle.

Remove the external handle (6).

Remove the hinge arm cover from each hinge arm (18).

Remove the access panel (2) from the door.

Disconnect the torque tube from the hinge pins (Fig. 402).

Remove the bolts in the torque tube (3, Fig. 402) and the hinge pins (1).

Move the sleeves along the torque tube.
