AFT ENTRY DOOR GUIDE ARM AND ROLLER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the guide arm from the aft entry door
(2)
The installation of the guide arm on the aft entry door.

2. Aft Entry Door Guide Arm Removal (Fig. 401)________________________________

Procedure

(1)
Disconnect the guide arm from the fuselage.
(a)
Remove the door release lever (3) and the shim (2).
(b)
Open the door sufficiently to get to the hinge link (7).
(c)
Remove the retainer ring (6).
(d)
Remove the pin (5).
(e)
Remove the roller (16) from the guide arm. 1) Open the door fully. 2) Put a punch in the bottom hole of the guide plate (1). 3) Hit the punch to push the roller through the hole in the
top guide plate.
NOTE: This removes the bushing also.

(2) Disconnect the guide arm from the door.
CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL IF YOU MOVE THE DOOR. WITH THE GUIDE ARM DISCONNECTED, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR WHEN YOU MOVE IT.
(a)
Move the guide arm away from the hinge arm.
(b)
Remove the bolts that hold the attach fitting (10) to the hinge support (13).
(c)
Remove the guide arm from the door.
NOTE: The attach fitting stays on the guide arm.

(d) Remove the attach fitting from the guide arm. 1) Remove the locknut (12), the washer (11), and the bolt (8).

(1)
Put a layer of grease on the roller (16).
S 424-006-B00
(2)
Connect the guide arm to the fuselage.
(a)
Align the holes in the guide arm with the holes in the guide plate.
(b)
Install the roller in the bushings in the guide arm.
(c)
Install the spring clip in the roller, if it is necessary.
(d)
Install the bushing in the top guide plate.
(e)
Install the door release lever (3) and the shim (2).
