Put a maintenance stand adjacent to the aft entry door (door).

Open the door.

 (3)
Remove the door lining and insulation (Ref 52-13-21/401).

Visually examine the door structure and mechanism.

Examine the external skin.
 1) Look for cracks.
 2) Look for corrosion.

Examine the housing of the handle mechanism.
 1) Look for cracks.
 2) Look for corrosion.
 3) Look for loose fasteners.

 (f)  
Examine the window.
 1) Look for cracks.

 (g)  
Examine the window frame.
 1) Look for cracks.
 2) Look for corrosion.

 (h)  
Examine the mechanism that operates the door.
 1) Look for cracks.
 2) Look for corrosion.
 3) Look for worn areas.
 4) Look for loose fasteners.

 (i)  
Examine the latches and the latch rollers. 1) Look for cracks. 2) Look for corrosion. 3) See that the latch rollers are clean and move easily.

 (j)  
Examine the door stop pins and the door stop fittings. 1) Look for cracks. 2) Look for corrosion. 3) See that the stop fittings are clean.

 (k)  
Examine the drain holes.
 1) Look for blockage.
