The adjustment of the stop pins, the door flushness, and the handle torque must be checked when the airplane is on its wheels.

There are 15 necessary conditions that the door must have to be rigged correctly (Figure 501A).
(5)
Successful completion of the checks in table 501 shows that the door is rigged correctly.

Prepare to adjust the door.
(a)
Put a maintenance stand adjacent to the door.
(b)
Remove the escape slide from the door (25-61-35/201).
(c)
Remove the door lining (Ref 52-41-31/401).

(d) Attach a 90-pound weight approximately in the middle of the bottom half of the FWD door. Attach a 60-pound weight approximately in the middle of the bottom half of the AFT door.
NOTE: This weight makes the door operate as if the escape

slide was installed.
1) You may use the rigging simulator tool, C52006-1.
(e) ON A NEW DOOR; do these steps: 1) Remove the centering guide from the door. 2) Back off all the door stop pins so they will not interfere
with the adjustment. 3) Loosen all the latch fittings until they move easily over their serrated plates.

Adjust the door:
(a)
ON A NEW DOOR; do each adjustment in Figure 501A to get each necessary condition.
(b)
Do the checks in Figure 501A to identify problem areas.
(c)
Do the adjustments in Figure 501A to correct problems.
(d)
Use Figure 501A until you have all the necessary conditions at the same time.
NOTE:____Adjustments are related. When you change one of them, you must continue to check and change the other adjustments until they are all satisfactory.

Adjust the snubber on the bottom hinge.
(a)
Open the door.
(b)
Make the snubber longer if it keeps the door from the fully open position. 1) Remove the four bolts that hold the fitting to the
structure. 2) Turn the rod end to change the length of the snubber. 3) Attach the fitting to the structure with the four bolts.

Install the centering guide if you removed it.
