A. Preparation for Installation If there is a yellow warning flag on the outside of the emergency oxygen container a safety ring is installed. This safety ring must be removed before the container is installed on an aircraft.
NOTE : If the safety ring is not removed the emergency oxygen generator
____
has no function.
(1) Removal of the safety ring
(Ref. Fig. 403/TASK 35-21-41-991-004)
(a)
Remove the tape securing of the warning flag.
(b)
Put the container on a workbench with the door on top. NOTE : The door of the container can be spring-loaded.

(c)
Open the door (1) with the TOOL - MANUAL RELEASE (995000).
(d)
Put the generator (2) in a position so that you can get access to the pull pin (3) and the safety ring (4).
(e)
Cut and remove the safety ring (4).
(f)
Rotate the generator (2) so that the eye end of the of the pull pin (3) faces the door.
(g)
Make sure that the routing of the lanyards (5) is correct.
(h)
Make sure that the lanyards and masks are not damaged.
(i)
Close the door.

B. Install the emergency oxygen containers in the passenger service channels and the service channel of the aft utility area.
NOTE : During installation, make sure that the hinge of the oxygen
____ container is adjacent to the window side of the fuselage. For the emergency oxygen container in the AFT utility area make sure that the hinge is installed opposite to the attendant seat.
NOTE : The installation procedure is the same for all the emergency
____
oxygen containers in the service channels.
(1)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Put the oxygen container (3) in position.
(4)
Engage one side of the oxygen container (3) on the rail (2).
(5)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
