Stop all refueling, repairs on fuel and hydraulic systems, and all procedures that use flammable materials such as cleaning and de-icing fluids.

Make sure that the work area is clean and free from dust and loose
particles.
(7)
Use only approved materials to clean the components of the oxygen
system.
(8)
Make sure that there are no hydrocarbons (fuel, lubricants, solvents) in the work area.
(9)
Make sure that there are no flammable materials (paint, thinners,
cleaning solvents) in the work area.
(10)
Make sure that there are no sources of ignition (sparks, flame, smoking) in a radius of 20m (66ft) of the oxygen replenishing equipment.
(11)
Make sure that your hands, clothes, equipment and tools are all clean and free from hydrocarbons.
(12)
If possible, wear clean lint-free cotton-gloves when you touch components in the oxygen system.
(13)
Make sure that there is a good flow of air in the work area.
(14)
Make sure that the oxygen system is depressurized before you loosen or tighten connections.
(15)
Always open the manual shut-off valves on the oxygen cylinders slowly to prevent a sudden increase of temperature.
(16)
Only close the manual shut-off valves on the oxygen cylinders with your hands. Do not use force to tighten them.
(17)
The system must be flushed with oxygen when nitrogen has been used during a test.
