B. After Operation 30 seconds after the altitude pressure switch 16WR has closed, the time delay relays 8WR and 9WR operate. These switch off the supply to the oxygen power relay 10WR. To reset the system, you press the TMR RESET pushbutton switch 13WR on the maintenance panel 50VU. The SYS ON indicator light 12WR goes off. When you push the PRE REC ANN. STOP pushbutton switch on the FAP 120RH the taped announcements stop.

PASSENGER OXYGEN - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
____________________________________________
1. General
_______
The passenger oxygen system supplies oxygen to the passengers and the cabin
attendants in case of emergency.
It has these subsystems:
-
Oxygen storage (Ref. 35-21-00)
-
Oxygen distribution (Ref. 35-22-00)
-
Oxygen control and indicating (Ref. 35-23-00).
2. Component Location

3. System Description

A. Oxygen Storage (Ref. 35-21-00)
The passenger emergency oxygen is contained in the passenger oxygen
storage system. The emergency oxygen is kept in the oxygen cylinder
assemblies.
The storage system also:
-Lets you fill the cylinder assemblies
-Releases the oxygen overboard if the pressure in the high pressure or the low pressure part of the oxygen system is too high.
B. Oxygen Distribution (Ref. 35-22-00) When the passenger gaseous-oxygen distribution-system operates it supplies each emergency oxygen container in the cabin with oxygen from the passenger oxygen storage-system. It makes sure that sufficient oxygen is available for the passengers and cabin attendants even if one of the supply lines is damaged.
C. Oxygen Control and Indicating (Ref. 35-23-00) The passenger oxygen control and indicating system controls the supply and operation of the passenger oxygen system. It also sends data of the condition of the passenger oxygen system to:
-
The Passenger Oxygen Indication Panel (POXIP)
-
The overhead panel 21VU
-
The maintenance panel 50VU.
4. Power Supply
____________ The essential busbar 401PP supplies the passenger oxygen system with 28 V DC.

5. Operation/Control and Indication________________________________
A. Operation When the cabin pressure decreases to a value equivalent to 14000 +0 -500 ft. (4267.12 +0.00 -152.39 m), the altitude pressure switch 16WR closes. This action operates the emergency oxygen system. If the altitude pressure switch 16WR does not operate, you can use the 'MAN ON' pushbutton switch 14WR (on the overhead panel 21VU) to operate the emergency oxygen system.
B. Demonstration Masks The demonstration masks are used by the cabin attendants to show passengers how to use the oxygen masks. The demonstration masks are not connected to the oxygen distribution system.
C. Sequence of Operation
When the system is activated automatically or manually:
-
The oxygen regulators 910WR1 and 910WR2 open and oxygen is supplied to the oxygen distribution network.
-
The 'SYS ON' indicator light 13WR, on the overhead panel 21VU, comes on.
-A taped message is transmitted over the passenger address system (Ref. 23-31-00).
-
The oxygen container doors open and the masks fall down for the passengers and cabin attendants.
-
The emergency oxygen flows when you pull the oxygen mask to your face.
NOTE : The emergency oxygen flow rate to the oxygen masks is controlled
____ by the oxygen regulators (910WR1 and 910WR2). At cabin pressure altitude below 10000 ft. (3048 m) there is no oxygen flow to the oxygen masks.
The warning 'REGUL LO PR' comes on on the POXIP if:
-
The pressure in the intermediate line of the oxygen system is too low
-
The low pressure switch does not operate.
D. After Operation Push the 'TMR RESET' pushbutton switch 13WR on the maintenance panel 50VU to reset the system.
