Type 1, burr-strip.

Type 2, dual-lock re-closable fastener-strip.

Type 3, spring loaded latches.
The three different types are not interchangeable.
It is necessary to use more force, to attach the dual-lock
re-closable fastener-strip, than for burr-strip. You can hear
a continual click sound as the two halves are pushed together.

CES
R (a) Types 1 and 2:
R 1_ Align the tongues on the under side of the top edge of the
R decorative-cover (20) with the slots (17) on the packboard
R (13).
R 2_ Press the top edge of the decorative-cover (20) on to the
R attach-strips (16).
R 3_ Push the lower edge of the decorative-cover (20) against the
R pack-assembly (9) until the spring clips engage.
R (b) Type 3:
R 1_ Engage the spring loaded bolts (73).
R 2_ Push the lower edge of the decorative-cover (20) against the
R pack-assembly (9) until the spring clips engage.
R (c) Make sure that you can see the gage through the hole in the
R decorative-cover (20).
R (6) Do a visual inspection of the visual indicator (30), and its related
R ARMED indication:
R (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 25-62-44-991-017)
R (a) Remove the SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING (98D52103500000) (4) and set
R the emergency control-handle (3) to the ARMED/AUTOMATIC position.
R (b) If installed, make sure that the self-adhesive placards are in a
R good condition.
R 1_ If necessary install new self-adhesive placards (Ref. TASK 11-
R 00-00-400-007) and (Ref. AMM 11-32-52 P. Block 001).
R 2_ Make sure that the point of the self-adhesive arrow (67),
R aligns with the RED mark.
R 3_ If not, re-position the self-adhesive arrow (67).
R (c) It is not necessary to make adjustments on aircraft where an
R ARMED/AUTOMATIC placard (68) is installed on the cabin floor.
R (d) Set the emergency control-handle (3) to the DISARMED/MANUAL
R position, and install the SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING
R (98D52103500000) (4).

C. Installation of the Escape-Slide Raft Pack-Assembly
(Ref. Fig. 402A/TASK 25-62-44-991-021-A)
(1) Install the girt bar (10) in the girt assembly (11): CAUTION : DO NOT PULL THE GIRT ASSEMBLY. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL OPEN THE

PACK ASSEMBLY.
(a)
Pull open the burr-strips of the girt assembly (11).
(b)
Pull the HANDLE (31), and open the lace-up joint (34).
(c)
Refer to the FIGURE for the correct procedure. (Ref. Fig. 405A/TASK 25-62-44-991-019-A)
NOTE : Safety the parachute-pin in position with nylon cord, that
____ has a minimum breaking strain of 9.0 lb (4.0823 kg).
(2) Install the pack-assembly (9) on the door:
(a)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(b)
Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.
(c)
Lift the pack-assembly (9) on the supports (14). NOTE : The pack-assembly (9) weighs approximately 50.0 kg (110.23
____
lb).
(d)
Hold the pack-assembly (9) at an angle inboard, on the supports (14).
