WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP
CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL
MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP
CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.
YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO
NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY
TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(17) Do these tasks:
(a)
"Safety Lock Removal and Leading Edge Flap Activation" (AMM 27-81-00/201).
(b)
"Leading Edge Flap Retraction" (AMM 27-81-00/201).

(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel 1) 6H1 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 B 2) 6H2 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 A 3) 6H3 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 B 4) 6H4 FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 A 5) 6H7 FIRE SW UNLOCK

ENGINE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE DISCHARGE CARTRIDGE (SQUIB) -

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The Discharge Cartridge (squib) Removal
(2)
The Discharge Cartridge (squib) Installation.
B. There are two squibs (8 total) on each of the fire bottles M228, M229, M230, and M231 in the leading edge of the wing. To remove or install the squib in the fire bottles you must:
(1)
Open the applicable circuit breakers.
(2)
Open and lock the leading edge flaps.
(3)
Remove or install the squib.
C. The removal or the installation procedure for the 8 squibs is the same.
NOTE: You must replace the fire extinguisher agent and the rupture

disk if the squib was detonated.

2. The Discharge Cartridge (Squib) Removal (Fig. 401)

A. General
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE SQUIB BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURES FOR DEVICES
_______ THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE BOTTLES TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Before you touch the squib, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-41-02/201).
