C. Procedure

Open the circuit breaker, APU DUCT OVERHEAT, on the P83 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

For thermal switches S969 thru S983 installed in the aft cargo compartment, remove the left vertical side wall panel in the aft and bulk cargo compartment. Thermal switches S978 and S983 are more easily accessible from the main deck. Remove the main deck floor panels directly above them for accesss.
NOTE: The thermal switches are installed on the airplane frame

along the APU air duct.

(3) For thermal switches S1173, S1924, S984, S985, and S986 installed in the aft of the bulk cargo compartment, get access to the thermal switches through the access door, 312A, installed in the area aft of the pressure bulkhead.
NOTE: The thermal switches are installed on the airplane frame

(4) ALL AIRPLANES; Remove the applicable access panels in the main wheel well for the seven thermal switches.
