D. Operational Test Using FIRE/OVHT Test Switch

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE TWO GROUND TEST SWITCHES ARE SET TO NORM AFTER A

GROUND TEST IS COMPLETE.
(1) Press and hold the FIRE/OVHT test switch on M7317 (P5).
NOTE: Do not release the test switch during the test until either
____ the EICAS message "FIRE TEST FAIL" or "TEST PASSED" is displayed. If the test is released before the EICAS message "TEST PASSED" or "FIRE TEST FAIL" is displayed, the test has not been completed.

(2) Make sure these indications occurr:
(a) The EICAS shows the TEST IN PROGRESS message while the test is in progress. Make sure the EICAS shows the TEST PASSED message when the test is complete.
NOTE: The EICAS can show the FIRE TEST FAIL message if
____ circuit breakers are open or a fault is on a related fire/overheat system.
(b) Make sure the EICAS does not show these messages: 1) BLD DUCT LEAK C 2) BLD DUCT LEAK L 3) BLD DUCT LEAK R

Operational Test using CMC S 865-079
CAUTION: AFTER PERFORMING A GROUND TEST, MAKE SURE THAT BOTH GROUND TEST
_______ SWITCHES ARE SET TO "NORM".
(1) Set one of these switches to "ENABLE" position:
(a)
S2089 Ground Test Enable Switch (P461)
(b)
S2090 Remote Test Enable Switch (RCDU).

Set the CDU to the CMC main menu.

Select "<GROUND TESTS," press the line select key next to it.

Select "<26 FIRE PROTECTION" from the menu.

Press the LINE SELECT key for FIRE SYSTEM TEST.

The "IN PROGRESS" indication will be generated for the duration of the test.

When the test is finished, the screen displays "PASS" or "FAIL>".

If the indication is "PASS", the test is finished.

(9) If the indication is FAIL>, press the line select key next to FAIL> and verify that any wing leading edge CMC maintenance fault messages do not appear. Perform the corrective action(s) for the CMC message(s) listed. Use the NEXT PAGE or PREV PAGE button to look through the messages.
