 WARNING:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE PNEUMATIC DUCTS WHEN THEY ARE HOT. WHEN THE DUCTS ARE HOT THEY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE SQUIB BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURES FOR DEVICES
_______ THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE BOTTLES TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  Before you touch the squib, do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-41-02/201).

 WARNING:_______DO NOT HANDLE THE BOTTLE WITH THE DISCHARGE PORT OPEN. KEEP THE PROTECTIVE CAP ON THE PORT. DO NOT HIT THE BOTTLE AGAINST THE AIRPLANE. IF THE CONTENTS OF THE BOTTLE IS ACCIDENTALLY LET OUT IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
 (2)  Before installation, make sure the weight of bottle is correct.
 (a)  Before the bottle is installed, make sure its weight is not more than 0.1 pound below the weight listed on the data plate.
 NOTE: HTL FIRE BOTTLES;
____ The measured weight of the bottle includes the charged bottle, the inspection tag on the bottle, and the swivel assemblies. If the squib cartridge is not installed on the fire extinguisher bottle, do not install it. Weigh the squib cartridges as loose parts. Include the weight of the squib cartridges in the measured weight. If the squib cartridges are installed, weigh the bottle with the cartridges installed. Remove all protective caps when the parts are weighed.
 NOTE: KIDDE FIRE BOTTLES;
____ The measure weight of the bottle includes the charged bottle, the inspection tag on the bottle and the protection cap on the container outlet. It does not include the squib cartridges, discharge heads or gorunding hardware.

 (3)  Install the squib (7), O-ring (6), and ground lug assembly (5) into the discharge port (3) as shown in Fig. 401.

 (4)  Torque the squib assemby (7) from 90 to 100 pound-inches.

 (5)  Lockwire the squib (7) to the discharge outlet (3).

 (6)  Install the insulation blanket on the extinguisher bottle.

 (7)  Position the bottle mounting lugs on the support bracket.
 NOTE:____ THE PRESSURE SWITCH SHOULD BE POSITIONED AFT, TOWARD THE
 INBOARD SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE.

Install the mounting nuts and bolts (four places).

Loosen the gland nut (9) on the discharge head, and adjust the discharge head so the discharge port points inboard.

 Torque the gland nut (9) from 45 to 55 foot-pounds (HTL fire bottles) or 55 to 65 foot-pounds (Kidde fire bottles).

 Lockwire the gland nut (9) to the discharge head.

 Remove the discharge port cap and connect the discharge hose to the discharge port (3).

 Connect the electrical connector DM103A (10) to the pressure switch.

 Do the steps that follow to connect an electrical connector DM103B to a fire bottle squib.

 (a)  If a protective cover is installed, remove the protective cover.

 CAUTION: IF A SHUNT PLUG IS INSTALLED, PULL THE SHUNT PLUG STRAIGHT
_______ OFF THE FIRE BOTTLE SQUIB. IF YOU TWIST OR TURN THE SHUNT PLUG, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SQUIB PINS.
 (b)  If a shunt plug is installed, pull the shunt plug straight off the squib and discard the shunt plug.
 NOTE: Shunt plugs should not be used to cover the fire bottle
____ squibs because they can cause damage to the squib pins.
