1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task replaces the lamp in the equipment cooling smoke detector. The second task cleans the smoke detector.
B. You can get access to the smoke detector, M7931, if you remove the left wall lining panel in the forward cargo compartment at STA 581.
C. If there is an indication that a detector does not work correctly, do a check of the lamp before you replace the smoke detector.

Remove the smoke detector (Ref 26-16-51/401).

Remove the six screws from the cover of the detector.

Remove the detector cover.
(4)
Remove the lens and lamp holder from the electronics assembly.
(5)
Remove the lens and lamp holder.

CAUTION: WHEN YOU REPLACE THE LAMP, USE ONLY ONE OF THESE LAMPS:
_______ CM376AS10, CM376AS15, GI376AS10, OR GI376AS15. IF YOU USE AN INCORRECT LAMP THE SMOKE DETECTOR WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
(6) Put the lamp in the lens and lamp holder.

(7) Put the lens and lamp holder in the correct position in the electronics assembly.
(a) Tighten the lens and lamp holder.

Put the gasket and cover on the detector.

Install and tighten the screws to seal the detector.
NOTE: The detector cover must be air tight.

A. Standard Tools and Equipment
(1) Compressed Air Source - Clean, filtered, dry and maximum pressure 15 psig.
