Make sure the instruction decal and the nameplate are in good condition.

Make sure the mounting bracket is attached correctly to the airplane.

Make sure the extinguisher is installed tightly to the mounting bracket.

(4)
Make sure the lock-pin or lock-wire is correctly installed on the handle.
S 216-006
(5)
Examine the pressurized cartridge and make sure it is correctly installed and in good condition.
(6)
Make sure there is no physical damage to the extinguisher.

(7) S 216-008Make sure the extinguisher is full. (a) Weigh the extinguisher. Extinguisher must weigh the same pound as the weight stamped on the weighing label. (b) If extinguisher does not meet the minimum weight requirement, replace it.
(8) S 216-009Make sure there are no leaks in the extinguisher.
(9) S 216-010If there are other manufacturer inspection or maintenance procedures that show on the extinguisher, do these procedures.

AUTO DISCHARGE FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

General
_______
A. The auto discharge fire extinguishing system is a fixed system providing fire extinguishing capability to the lavatory waste compartment. Extinguishing is accomplished by flooding the lavatory waste compartment with an inert gas.
B. The fire extinguishing system consists of a heat activated extinguisher
bottle and a temperature indicator.Fire Extinguisher Bottle Assembly (Fig. 1)

A. The fire extinguisher bottle assembly consists of an elongated spherical steel container fitted with two discharge tubes having fusible tips and a mounting bracket. The container is about 2.6 inches in diameter and has a volume of approximately 10.0 cubic inches. The bottle is filled with Halon 1301.
B. The lavatory fire extinguisher bottle is mounted inside the lavatory cabinet assembly. The discharge tubes extend into the lavatory waste compartment.
Temperature Indicator (Fig. 1)

A. The temperature indicator is a thin vinyl plate containing four heat sensitive patches. Each patch will change color from grey to black when exposed to temperatures from 170°F to 200°F.
B. The temperature indicator with self-adhesive backing is located inside
the lavatory cabinet assembly.Operation
