 (9)  With the H294 Tester, do the steps that follow:
 (a)  
Put the POWER switch to the ON position on the Thermal Switch Tester.

 (b)  
Make sure the red light over "K" in the TEST INPUT display comes on and the red light over "C" in DEGREES display comes on.

 (c)  
Make sure the CONTROL TEMP shows 0, and the TEST INPUT and HEATER TEMP shows the probe temperature.

 (d)  
Push the DSPY TEST button on the keyboard.

 (e)  
Make sure all the lights in the TEST INPUT and the DEGREES display come on.

 (f)  
Make sure the TEST INPUT shows 88.88 and the HEATER TEMP and CONTROL TEMP show 8888.

 (g)  
Push the SET TEMP button on the keyboard.

 (h)  
Make sure the CONTROL TEMP display and the DEGREES lamp flash.

 (i)  
Push the button C or F for the type of the temperature indication.

 (j)  
For the 3100-250-1 or the 975-0304-001, push the numbered buttons on the keyboard for a probe target temperature of 165°F or 74°C. For the 3100-250-2 or the 975-0304-002, push the numbered buttons on the keyboard for a probe target temperature of 212°F or 100°C. For the 3100-250-3 or the 975-0304-003, push the numbered buttons on the keyboard for a probe target temperature of 250°F or 127°C.


 WARNING:_______ DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT METAL PART OF THE HEATER PROBE WHEN
 THE PROBES ARE HOT.  THE HOT HEATER PROBES CAN CAUSE
 SEVERE BURNS IF NOT HANDLED CORRECTLY OR NOT ALLOW TO COOL
 SUFFICIENTLY.

 NOTE: This temperature selection will let the heat probe
____ stabilize at a temperature slightly below the nominal close temperature of the switch. After the probe is stabilized, then you can increase the temperature of the probe until the switch closes.
 (k)  
Push the ENTR button.

 (l)  
Make sure the HEAT ON light comes on and the probe temperature increases.

 (m)  
Make sure that as the HEATER TEMP display nears or reaches the CONTROL TEMP display, the HEAT ON light flashes to indicate the probe is near the set temperature.

 (n)  
Allow the heat probe to stabilize at this temperature.

 (o)  
Slowly increase the heat until the SWITCH CLOSED light comes on.

 (p)  
Make sure the HEATER TEMP is within the limits for the temperature closed setting.

 (q)  
Make sure the APU DUCT OVHT IND LIGHT L6 on the P83 panel is on.

 (r)  
The EICAS shows the "APU DUCT LEAK" status message.


 WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT METAL PART OF THE HEATER PROBE WHEN
_______ THE PROBES ARE HOT. THE HOT HEATER PROBES CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS IF NOT HANDLED CORRECTLY OR NOT ALLOW TO COOL SUFFICIENTLY.
 (s)  
Slowly reduce the probe temperature until the switch opened indication appears.

 (t)  
Make sure the heater temp is within the limits for the temperature switch open setting.

 (u)  
Make sure the difference between the switch closed setting and switch open setting is greater than the deadband requirement.

 (v)  
Disconnect the probe from the thermal switch.

 (w)  
Push the APU DUCT OVERHEAT RESET SW S220 on the P83 panel.

 (x)  
Make sure the APU DUCT OVERHEAT IND LIGHT L6 is off.

 (y)  Remove the EICAS status message "APU DUCT LEAK"
 (AMM 45-10-00/201).

 (10) With the H394 Tester, do the steps that follow:
 (a)  For the 3100-250-1 or the 975-0304-001, push the numbered buttons on the keyboard for a probe target temperature of 165°F or 74°C. For the 3100-250-2 or the 975-0304-002, push the numbered buttons on the keyboard for a probe target temperature of 212°F or 100°C. For the 3100-250-3 or the 975-0304-003, push the numbered buttons on the keyboard for a probe target temperature of 250°F or 127°C.
