Make sure the squib pins are not bent or damaged.
(e)
Make sure the electrical connector is not damaged.
NOTE: If the squib electrical pins do not enter the
____ receptacles in the electrical connector, the pins can cause damage to the electrical connector.
(f)
Connect the electrical connector to the fire bottle squib.
(g)
Do the steps that follow to make sure you did not bend or damage the squib pins.
NOTE: This step is necessary because the pins are most likely
____ to be damaged the first time an electrical connector is connected to the squib.
1) Disconnect the electrical connector from the fire bottle
squib. 2) Make sure the squib pins are not bent or damaged. 3) Make sure the electrical connector is not damaged. 4) Connect the electrical connector to the fire bottle squib.
H. Install the Fire Bottle

WARNING: DO NOT MOVE OR TOUCH THE BOTTLE WITHOUT CAPS ON THE DISCHARGE
_______ PORTS. KEEP THE PROTECTIVE CAPS ON THE DISCHARGE PORTS. MAKE SURE THE BOTTLE DOES NOT HIT AGAINST THE AIRPLANE. BE CAREFUL OR YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BOTTLE. IF THE BOTTLE IS ACCIDENTALLY FIRED, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
(1) Before the bottle is installed, make sure its weight is not more than 0.1 pound below the weight marked on the bottle.
NOTE: HTL FIRE BOTTLES;
____ The measured weight of the bottle includes the charged bottle, the inspection tag on the bottle, and the swivel assemblies . If the squib cartridge is not installed on the fire extinguisher bottle, do not install it. Weigh the squib cartridges as loose parts. Include the weight of the squib cartridges in the measured weight If the squib cartridges are installed, weigh the bottle with the cartridges installed. Remove all protective caps when the parts are weighed.
KIDDE FIRE BOTTLES; The measured weight of the bottle includes the charged bottle, the inspection tag on the bottle and the protection cap on the contained outlet. It does not include the squib cartridges, discharge heads or grounding hardware.

CAUTION:_______ SOME OF THE FIRE BOTTLES COME WITH TEFLON TAPE AROUND THE
DISCHARGE HEAD THREADS. DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAPE. THIS TAPE IS
THERE TO ALLOW EASY REMOVAL OF THE DISCHARGE HEADS (REF VENDOR
CMM).

Install the squib (8), O-ring (7), and ground lug assembly (6) into the discharge port (4) as shown in Figure 401 for the two squibs.

Set the mounting lugs (11) on the support brackets.

Install the mounting washers (12) and bolts (13) (four places).

Loosen the discharge head gland nut (10) and adjust the discharge heads so the discharge ports are oriented to provide possible tube connections.

Torque the squib assembly (3) to 90-100 pound-inches.

Lockwire the squib (8) to the discharge outlet (4).

Torque the gland nut (10) to 45-55 ft-lbs(HTL fire bottles)/55-65 ft-lbs(Kidde fire bottles) for the two squibs.

Lock the gland nut (10) to the discharge head on the two squibs.

Remove the discharge port cap and connect the discharge tube to the discharge port (4) for the two squibs. The torque requirement is 900 In-Lbs + or - 5% for 1.25 inch diameter tube and 750 In-Lbs | 5% for 1.00 inch diameter tube.
