1. General
_______
A. This section examines the lavatory fire extinguisher for proper weight, minor dents, and corrosion.
B. The auto discharge extinguishers are located above the lavatory waste container. The extinguisher bottle can be accessed by opening the waste compartment door.
C. For more information about the Auto Discharge Fire Extinguishing System, refer to AMM 26-27-00/001.

(1) Remove the bottle from the towel chute.(AMM 26-27-01/401)
(a) Weigh the bottle to determine if the bottle has been discharged.
NOTE: Total weight of the extinguishing agent and the bottle
____ is provided on the label of each bottle.

(b) Replace the bottle if it weighs less than the weight marked on the bottle by 10 grams or more.(AMM 26-27-01/401)
(2) S 226-003Examine the bottle for corrosion, scratches, dents or evidence of leakage. (a) Remove the extinguisher for closer examination if the dents are deeper than 1/16 inch per inch of average dent diameter or there are significant scratches are deeper than approximately 0.004 inch.
(3) S 216-004Examine the bottle fusible tips. (a) Make sure the fusible tips are solid.
(4) S 216-005Examine the bottle plumbing and nozzles for leakage or damage.
