 1.  General_______
 A.  The fire extinguishing system for the engine has two fire bottles in each wing leading edge, a fire control module, and a squib test module. Each bottle has plumbing to the two engines on the wing.
 B.  This section contains an operational test and a system test of the engine fire extinguishing system.
 (1)  
The operational test makes sure the system operates correctly. It can be done on a minimum of time and uses only the equipment installed in the airplane.

 (2)  
The system test has different tests for each part of the system. When all the tests are done, the fire extinguishing system is ready to operate correctly. The system test include these tasks:

 (a)  
Squib Discharge Circuit Test

 (b)  
Tubing System Test

 (c)  
Pressure Switch Test

 1) 6H1, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 B
 2) 6H2, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 1&3 A
 3) 6H3, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 B
 4) 6H4, FIRE EXTINGUISHER ENG 2&4 A

 D. Squib Circuit Continuity Test
 S 865-004
 (1)  
Close the circuit breaker, 6H2, FIRE EXTINGUISHER 1&3 A on the P6 panel.

 S 865-005

 (2)  
Push and hold the TEST 1 button on the, M7327, squib test module on the, P461, pilot's overhead maintenance panel.

 (a)  
Make sure the ENG 1, and 3 lights come on.

 (b)  
Make sure the ENG 2 and 4 lights do not come on.

 

 S 865-008
 (3)  Release the TEST 1 button.
 (a)  Make sure the ENG 1 and 3 lights go off.
 S 865-010
 (4)  Push and hold the TEST 2 button on the, M7327, squib test module on the P461 panel.
 (a)  
Make sure the ENG 1 and 3 lights come on.

 (b)  
Make sure the ENG 2 and 4 lights do not come on.

 S 865-013
 (5)  Release the test button.
 (a)  Make sure the ENG 1 and 3 lights go off.
