 B.  The system test does a check of the four modes of operation of the pressurization control system.
 C.  The second task does a check of the system components when you measure electrical values at the pressure controller.
 D.  The standby rate check does a check of the rate of cabin altitude change for the standby mode.
 E.  The standby altitude check does a check of the CAB ALT control.
 F.  The automatic rate check does a check of the rate of change in the cabin altitude in the AUTO mode.
 G.  The outflow valve resistance test does a check of the AC and DC clutches and the valve feedback potentiometers. You must remove the aft outflow valve to do this test.

 2.  System Test - Pressurization Control System___________________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  
This procedure has four tasks. Two of the tasks make sure that you can manually control the pressurization control system. The other two tasks make sure that the automatic control and standby control modes operate correctly. You must do all of the tasks to make sure the pressurization control system operates correctly. You do not have to do all of the tasks if it is not necessary for a procedure. After the replacement or repair of a part, all of the tasks possibly are not necessary for a test.

The four tasks necessary for the full check of the system are:

 (a)  
Test of the DC Manual Mode

 (b)  
AC Manual Mode Test

 (c)  
Standby Mode Test

 (d)  
Automatic Mode Test

 

 (3)  
Refer to AMM 21-31-00/201 for a fast check of the pressurization control system.


 WARNING: DO NOT PUT YOUR HANDS OR TOOLS IN THE OUTLET VALVE DURING THE
_______ GROUND OPERATION OF THE PRESSURIZATION CONTROL SYSTEM. A MOTOR OPENS AND CLOSES THE OUTLET VALVE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)  The steps necessary to prepare for the tests are given in a paragraph at the start of the system test. If more steps are necessary to prepare for a test, these steps will be given in the applicable test.

Open an airplane door to prevent unwanted cabin pressurization if the air conditioning packs are in operation.

 (6)  
Set the RECIRC FAN switch(es) to OFF to do a check of the forward outflow valve. Do the check of the forward outflow valve during the operation of the aft outflow valve. You must remove the forward left lining from the lower area of the forward cargo compartment. You can then see the mechanical position indicator on the forward outflow valve.

Make sure that these circuit breakers on the P6 panel are closed.

STBY AC and DC

Set the FLT-GRD switch on the pressurization control panel to GRD.

Close the LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LTS circuit breaker on the P6 panel.


 NOTE: On airplanes with the CPC21 controller installed, let the
____ system operate for 15 minutes before you do the test. On airplanes with the CPC22 controller installed, let the system operate for 5 minutes before you do the test.
 E. Procedure

 (1)  Do a test of the DC manual mode:
 (a)  
Set the L and R PACK switches to OFF.

 (b)  
Set the RECIRC FAN switch(es) to OFF.

 (c)  
Set the mode selector switch to DC MAN.

 (d)  
Make sure that the MANUAL light comes on.
