PREREQUISITES
MAKE SURE THIS SYSTEM WILL OPERATE:
AUXILIARY POWER UNIT (APU)(AMM 49-11-00/201) (IF THE APU IS NOT AVAILABLE, YOU MUST USE A GROUND CART TO SUPPLY THE DUCT PRESSURE)
MAKE SURE THESE CIRCUIT BREAKERS ARE CLOSED: 6A3, 6A4, 6C1, 6C2, 6C3, 6C4, 6D4, 6E1, 6E2
MAKE SURE THE AIRPLANE IS IN THIS CONFIGURATION: ELECTRICAL POWER IS ON (AMM 24-22-00/201)PNEUMATIC SYSTEM PRESSURE IS PRESENT (AMM 36-05-00/201)
"PACK TRIP OFF"  NOTE:____  THIS TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE IS WRITTEN FOR THE LEFT PACK TRIP OFF LIGHT. THE NUMBERS IN 
LIGHT ON THE P5  PARENTHESIS ARE FOR THE RIGHT PACK TRIP OFF 
PANEL IS ON.  LIGHT.


DESCRIPTION:
THE LEFT (RIGHT) "PACK TRIP OFF" LIGHT ON THE P5-10 AIR CONDITIONING MODULE IS ON.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1.  
THE PACK OR THE DUCT HAD AN OVERHEAT CONDITION . BLOCKED OR CONTAMINATED HEAT EXCHANGERS (AMM 21-51-21/701) . MIX VALVE IS FAILED (AMM 21-61-11/401) . PACK FLOW CONTROL AND SHUTOFF VALVE IS FAILED OPEN (AMM 21-51-71/401) . INSUFFICIENT AIR THROUGH THE RAM AIR SYSTEM (AMM 21-52-00/501)

-TURBO FAN (AMM 21-52-61/401)
-TURBO FAN VALVE (AMM 21-52-71/401)
-DEFLECTOR DOOR (AMM 21-52-31/401)
-RAM AIR DOOR (AMM 21-52-51/401; AMM 21-52-91/401).


2.  
OVERHEAT SWITCHES: . DUCT OVERHEAT SWITCH, S3 (S6 OR S0990)(AMM 21-61-51/401) . TURBINE INLET OVERHEAT SWITCH, S1 (S4)(AMM 21-51-18/401) . COMPRESSOR OVERHEAT SWITCH, S2 (S5)(AMM 21-51-18/401).

AIR CYCLE MACHINE IS SEIZED (AMM 21-51-11/401)

PUSH THE "TRIP RESET" SWITCH ON THE P5 PANEL. DOES THE "PACK TRIP OFF" LIGHT GO OFF?

 FOR THE LEFT PACK:  FOR THE FLIGHT DECK, S3 
DISCONNECT CONNECTOR D534 FROM (AMM 21-61-51/401).
