SAFETY RELIEF VALVE FILTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. The first task gives instructions for the removal of the filter on the safety relief valve. The second task gives instructions for the installation of the filter on the safety relief valve.
B. The filter for the safety relief valve must be discarded. The filter prevents the contamination of the control chamber of the relief valve from the used air of the passenger cabin.

Remove the aft bulkhead panel (right) in the aft cargo compartment to get access to the safety relief valves.

Push down on the filter cover and turn it counterclockwise.
(3)
Remove the filter cover.
(4)
Remove the filter and the packing.

Examine the space for dirt where you will install the filter.

Do these steps to clean the space for the filter if it is necessary:
CAUTION:_______DO NOT SEAL THE ORIFICE IN THE CENTER OF THE SPACE. IF THE ORIFICE IS SEALED, THE SAFETY RELIEF VALVE WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
(a)
Clean the space with a lintfree cloth which is moist with the solvent.
(b)
Rub the space dry with a lintfree cloth.

Put the packing on the filter.

Install the filter into the space for the filter.
