Loosen the clamps that secure the check valve to the ducts.

Move the clamps away from the check valve.

(1) Install the check valve:
(a)
Remove the duct covers.
(b)
Install the check valve between the ducts.
NOTE: The flow arrow on the check valve must point forward.
(c)
Move the clamps onto the check valve.
(d)
Tighten the clamps.
D. Do a Leakage Test of the Check Valve

Supply pneumatic power to the airplane (AMM 36-05-00/201).

(2)
Set the applicable pack switch to the AUTO position.

(3)
Examine the check valve for leakage:
(a)
A small leak is O.K.
(b)
You must repair a large leak.
E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Install the panel on the aft bulkhead in the forward cargo compartment that was removed to get access.

Remove the pneumatic power from the airplane if it is no longer necessary (AMM 36-05-00/201).

1. General_______
A. A hinge on the duct and check valve assembly has a spring which holds the swing check valve almost open when the air conditioning system is off. When the air conditioning system is on, the pressure in the air distribution ducts causes the swing check valve to close. Before you install the duct and check valve assembly, you must do a check of the swing check valve and adjust the hinge if it is necessary. The swing check valve must open and close correctly.
