 D. Prepare for the Tests
 S 215-060
 (1)  
Make sure that all the circuit breakers for the air conditioning and the pneumatic systems are closed.

Make sure that these circuit breakers are closed on the P6-3 panel:

 (a)  
MASTER CAUTION (all except FUEL, if installed)

 (b)  
INDICATOR LIGHTS, MASTER DIM BUS (9 locations)

 (c)  
DIM & TEST (1 location)

 (d)  
NOSE GEAR AIR/GND

 (e)  
LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LTS

 (3)  
Put the LIGHTS switch to TEST momentarily, on the P2-1 panel, and make sure that these lights come on and then go off:

 (a)  
MASTER CAUTION and AIR COND annunciator lights on the P7 panel

 (b)  
PACK TRIP OFF lights on the P5-10 panel

 

 (4)  
Open the bay doors for the air conditioning equipment.

 (5)  Make sure that the AIR MIX VALVE indicators for the CONT CABIN and PASS CABIN on the P5-17 temperature control module show that the air mix valves are in the fully COLD position.
 (a)  Make sure the AIR MIX VAVE indicator needles on the P5-17 align with the inner mark at the COLD position.

 (6)  Make sure that the indicator needle of the visual indicator on each air mix valve, in the air conditioning bay, is at the full COLD position.

Put the engine BLEED 1 switch to OFF.

Move the ISOLATION VALVE switch to OPEN.

 (8)  Start the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201).

 (2)  S 865-073Manually pull the manual control rods to open the turbofan valves (Fig. 501).
 (3)  S 215-074Make sure that the turbofan valves modulate to a position which is less than the full open position and that the turbofans operate.
 NOTE:____ The duct pressure must be more than 33 psi, which is the maximum regulating pressure of the turbofan valves. The turbofans will regulate too high if the turbofan valves are fully open.
 (a)  If the duct pressure is more than 35 psi and the valve is full open, then there is a problem with the valve. 1) Replace the applcable turbofan valve (AMM 21-52-71/401).
 (4)  S 865-075Operate the control rods to manually close the turbofan valves. (a) Look at the position indicator on the valve to make sure the turbofan valve is closed.
 (5)  S 435-076Connect the electrical connectors to the turbofan valves.
 (6)  S 865-077Move the L PACK and R PACK switches to HIGH.
 (7)  S 215-078Make sure that the turbofan valves move to the full open position.
 NOTE:____ The duct pressure must be lower than 27 psi, which is the minimum regulating pressure of the turbofan valves. The turbofan valves will regulate too low if the turbofan valves are not fully open.
