When the APU EGT is stable, write down the APU EGT as
Temperature #4.
AIRPLANES WITH GARRETT APU MODELS GTCP85-129C,-129E,-129F;
Make sure that the difference between the Temperature #1 APU
EGT and the Temperature #4 APU EGT is between the MINIMUM and
MAXIMUM curves shown in Figure 502.
AIRPLANES WITH GARRETT APU MODELS GTCP85-129H,-129J,-129K;
Make sure that the difference between the Temperature #1 APU
EGT and the Temperature #4 APU EGT is |40°C of the APU EGT
shown in Figure 502 for the HIGH FLOW curve.
When the SUPPLY DUCT temperature is stable, write down the
SUPPLY DUCT temperature.
AIRPLANES WITH TEMPERATURE INDICATION IN FAHRENHEIT;
Make sure that the second SUPPLY DUCT temperature is less than
36°F above the ambient air temperature.
NOTE: A higher duct temperature is a sign of poor performance
____ of the primary heat exchanger when the pack flow and turbofan operation is normal. The steps which follow can temporarily increase the performance of the primary heat exchanger.
1) If the SUPPLY DUCT temperature is more then 36°F above the ambient air temperature, then do these steps: a) Move the R PACK switch to OFF and attach a
DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
b) Clean the heat exchangers (AMM 21-51-21/701).
NOTE: If the primary heat exchanger needs to be
____ cleaned, the secondary heat exchanger will also need to be cleaned. The primary and the secondary heat exchangers are cleaned together in AMM 21-51-21/701.
c) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag and move the R PACK switch to HIGH.
d) Make sure that the second SUPPLY DUCT temperature is less than 36 degrees F above the ambient air temperature.
e) Replace the primary heat exchanger if the second SUPPLY DUCT temperature is more than 36 degrees F above the ambient air temperature.
