_______ CONDITIONED AIR SOURCE AT THE SAME TIME. THE AIR CONDITIONING PACK CANNOT CONTROL THE AIR TEMPERATURE IF YOU ALSO OPERATE A GROUND CONDITIONED AIR SOURCE AT THE SAME TIME. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT IF YOU OPERATE AN AIR CONDITIONING PACK AND GROUND CONDITIONED AIR SOURCE AT THE SAME TIME.
 (1)  
Make sure that a ground conditioned air source is not connected to the airplane.

 (2)
Supply electrical power to the airplane (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (3)  
Make sure the PACK switches are OFF.

 (4)  
Make sure no pack warning lights are ON.

 (5)  S 212-010Make sure the AIR MIX VALVE position indicator shows full COLD.
 (6)  S 862-014Set these items as follows: (a) AIR TEMP Selector - SUPPLY DUCT (b) CABIN TEMPERATURE SELECTOR - AUTO NORMAL

 WARNING: INADVERTANT AIRPLANE PRESSURIZATION CAN CAUSE PERSONNEL INJURY
_______ AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE.
 (7)  If a control cabin window or an entry door can not be left open because of weather conditions, etc., do these steps:
 (a)  
Set the pressurization MODE SELECTOR switch on the P5-6 Pressurization Control Panel to MAN AC or MAN DC.

 (b)  
Use the toggle switch on the P5-6 Pressurization Control Module to manually open the outflow valve.

 NOTE: Look at the indicator on the P5-6 Pressurization
____ Control Panel to determine the outflow valve position.

Supply pneumatic power to the airplane (Ref 36-05-00/201).

Set the L PACK switch or the R PACK switch to HIGH.

 NOTE: The best performance is obtained if only one pack is used
____ if only one source of bleed air is available (ie. APU, External Bleed Source, One Engine).

 (10) Monitor the duct temperature on the AIR TEMP gauge.
 NOTE: The supply duct temperature will be high until the
____ airplane cabin temperature is near the selected temperature.
 The supply duct temperature should not be below 35 F (1.8 C) when cooling begins.

 (11) To remove conditioned air from the air-conditioning packs, do these steps:
 (a)  Set the pack switch to OFF.

 (b)  Make sure these actions occur: 1) The AIR MIX valve position indicator moves to the full COLD
 position. 2) The duct pressure rises. 3) The duct temperature moves towards the ambient temperature.

 Remove the pneumatic power from the airplane if it is no longer necessary (Ref 36-05-00/201).

 REMOVING SMOKE OR FUMES FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - TROUBLE SHOOTING

 1.  General_______
 A.  Smoke or fumes flow into the passenger cabin or the flight compartment through the air distribution system during flight. This problem is usually caused by contamination of the air by oil, glycol, fuel, or hydraulic fluid. In flight, contamination can be caused by leakage of these fluids in one of the engines.
