 (4)  
Remove any unwanted solvent from the area to be repaired with dry, clean cheesecloth.

 S 348-003

 (5)  
Prepare the tape to connect the duct sections.

 (a)  
Mix the adhesive fully with one part of toluene to two parts of adhesive by volume.

 (b)  
Apply a layer of the adhesive to a thickness of 0.020 to 0.030 inch to one side of the tape and to the ends of the ducts.

 (c)  
Install the tape, adhesive side down, on the disbonded joint section. 1) Make sure that the tape attaches to a minimum of 1.5 inches

 


 of each duct.
 2)  Make sure that the ends of the tape make an overlap of 1 to 2 inches on each other except where a nozzle opening occurs.
 3)  Pull out the wrinkles in the tape so it is smooth and there are no air pockets.
 (d)  Apply a layer of the adhesive to the tape.

Let the repair dry for a minimum of 4 hours at a temperature of 65-100°F (18.3-37.8°C).

Install the ceiling panel(s) that was removed.

 3.  Repair the Overhead Distribution Duct - Temporary (Fig._________________________________________________801)
 A.  General
 (1)  You must do the temporary repair only if it is not possible to do the permanent repair. This temporary repair will decrease the air leakage and the noise. You must do the permanent repair or the duct removal and installation as soon as it is possible.
 B.  Consumable Materials
 (1)  G02130 or G02186 - Sponge Rubber - BMS 1-60 or BMS 1-68

 D. Repair the Duct

 (1)  
Remove the applicable ceiling panel in the passenger compartment to get access to the duct.

 S 368-010

 (2)  
Put a piece of the sponge rubber (2-inch by 3-inch by 10-inch) over the disbonded joint between the insulation and the duct.

 (3)  
Install the ceiling panel that was removed.

 PRESSURIZATION CONTROL - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 A.  Pressurization control includes the pressurization control system,
 pressurization relief valves, and pressurization indication and warning.Pressurization Control System

 A.  The pressurization control system describes only the parts of pressurization control which regulate pressure in the airplane at all altitudes.
 B.  The system is electrically-operated and electronically-controlled. There are four operating modes which may be selected on the pressure control panel. Automatic is the normal operating mode, standby is semi-automatic in operation and backs up the automatic system, and two manual modes provide direct electrical control. All modes position the cabin pressurization outflow valve to maintain desired cabin pressure.
