 Normal system operation will close the turbofan valve when the flaps are up and the airplane is in the air.
 (e)  
Make sure the ECS PACK H/L indication on the FMC display shows LO for both packs.

 (f)  
Set the L PACK switch to HIGH.

 (g)  
Make sure the ECS PACK H/L indication on the FMC display shows HI for the left pack and LO for the right pack.

 (h)  
Set the R PACK switch to HIGH.

 (i)  
Make sure the ECS PACK H/L indication on the FMC display shows HI for both packs.

 (j)  
Put the L and R PACK switches on the air conditioning panel to AUTO.

 (k)  
Make sure the ECS PACK H/L indication on the FMC display shows LO for both packs.

 (8)  Pressurize the airplane as follows:
 (a)  
Pressurize the airplane to 4.0 psid (AMM 05-51-91/201) as follows: 1) Set the ISOLATION VALVE switch to CLOSE. 2) Supply pneumatic pressure to the right pack with the right

 engine at ground idle (AMM 36-05-00/201). 3) Supply pneumatic pressure to the left pack with the APU (AMM 36-05-00/201).

 (b)  
Manually operate the aft outflow valve to maintain the cabin pressure of 4.0 psid as follows: 1) AIRPLANES WITH ANALOG PRESSURIZATION CONTROL SYSTEMS;


 Make sure the pressurization mode selector is set at MAN AC or MAN DC. 2) AIRPLANES WITH DIGITAL PRESSURIZATION CONTROL SYSTEMS; Make sure the pressurization mode selector is set to MAN. 3) Position the CLOSED/OPEN toggle switch as necessary to maintain 4.0 psid on the DIFF PRESS gauge.

 (9)  Do these steps after the airplane has been pressurized to 4.0 psid:

 (a)  
Obey all safety instructions if you work around an engine that is in operation (AMM 71-00-00/201).

 (b)  
Inspect these components for any sign of leakage: 1) Doors 2) Hatches 3) Forward outflow valve 4) Equipment cooling valve 5) Bilge drains 6) Flight deck windows 7) Safety relief valves 8) Air conditioning and APU duct seals at the pressure

 bulkhead penetrations in the air conditioning bays 9) Outflow valve seal

 (c)  
Make a record of evidence of leakage on the Part 1 data fields of Figure 201.


 C. Test of Pack Ability to Pressurize the Passenger Cabin
 S 782-010
 (1)  Do this check of the right pack capability to pressurize the passenger cabin in the AUTO mode:
 (a)  
Make sure the pressure differential on the DIFF PRESS/CABIN ALT indicator on the P5-17 panel indicates a steady 4.0 psid. 1) If a differential pressure of 4.0 psid cannot be

 maintained, either a pack supply or airplane leakage problem exists. Refer to the troubleshooting for additional information (AMM 21-00-05/101).

 (b)  
Set the L PACK switch on the P5-10 air conditioning panel to OFF.

 (c)  
Set the APU BLEED switch on the P5-10 air conditioning panel to OFF.

 (d)  
Make sure the R PACK switch is set to AUTO.

 (e)  
Make a record of the cabin rate of change on the CABIN CLIMB indicator.

 (f)  
Make a record of the right engine N1% information on the data sheet.

 (g)  
Monitor the ANALOG DISC 1/4 page on the FMC CDU to make sure the pack and isolation valve operation is as commanded.

 (h)  Inspect the left side of the airplane for air leakage while the right engine is in operation.
