 3.  Muffler
_______
 A.  A muffler is provided in the control cabin conditioned air distribution system to minimize airflow noise. A restrictor located immediately upstream of the muffler ensures balanced airflow from the control cabin outlets, and must be retained if the muffler is replaced. The muffler is located in the duct which extends from the distribution bay to the control cabin, below the passenger cabin floor outboard of the nose wheel well (Ref Fig. 1). For access remove the left side aft access panel in nose wheel well (Ref 12-31-11).
 B.  The small muffler between the under seat outlets is accessed through the forward access door, forward of the nose wheel well.
 4.  Operation
_________
 A.  The control cabin receives conditioned air when one or both of the air conditioning packs are on. On the ground, a recirculation fan will supply air flow to the main distribution system when the fan switch is placed to AUTO (Ref 21-21-22) unless L and R PACK switches are in HIGH.
