Move the aileron to the full up position with hydraulic power:


 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF
_______ CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN PREVENT POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 1)  Do this task to pressurize the hydraulic systems (systems No. 1 or 2 for the left aileron, or systems No. 3 or 4 for the right aileron): "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
_______ LE AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 2)  Move the flap control lever to the 30-unit detent to extend the trailing edge flaps.

 3) Operate the aileron control wheel to move the aileron to the full up position. 4) Do this task: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).
 (b)  Move the aileron to the full up position manually:
 1)  With all the linkage connected, fully turn the aileron control wheel in the direction necessary for aileron movement.
 NOTE: The right aileron moves up if you turn the aileron
____ control wheel clockwise.
 2) Use the alternate system to extend the trailing edge flaps. 3) Manually push the aileron to the full up position.
 NOTE:____Two persons are necessary to do this task. You can also turn the trim and feel mechanism quadrant to help you do the task.
 E.  Remove the Outboard Aileron (Fig. 401)
 S 024-011
 (1)  
Remove the outboard aileron.

 (a)  
Remove the bonding jumpers (8) at hinges No. 2 and 5.

 (b)  
Disconnect the input control rod (17).

 (c)  
Disconnect the transmitter control rod from the aileron leading edge and safety the rod out of the way.

 (d)  
Disconnect the actuator piston of the power control package (9) from the aileron (Section A-A, Fig. 401). 1) Use the antirotation plate (16) to hold the bolt head while

 you turn the nut (11).

 (e)  
Remove the antirotation plate (16) and the bolt (15) (Section A-A).

 (f)  
Disconnect the support links of the power control package (32) from the aileron.

 (g)  
Move the aileron to the full down position.

 (h)  
Attach the sling and bracket assembly (5) to the aileron.

 (i)  
Attach load positioners and the applicable hoist to the aileron.

 (j)  
Balance the weight of the aileron, sling, and brackets.

 (k)  
Remove the aileron hinge bolts (7).


 NOTE: The outboard aileron weighs approximately 345 pounds.

 (l)  Move the aileron down and aft until all the aileron balance weights are clear of the wing structure.
