(1)
Adjust the wing trailing edge bulb seal if upper surface of leading edge on the left and right inboard ailerons show signs of chafing, and/or the seal compression is greater than 10 percent when in contact with the inboard aileron. Do the steps that follow (Fig. 403):
(a)
Remove the seal retainer assembly from the wing fixed trailing edge panel.
(b)
Increase the hole size of the slot in the bulb seal and seal depressor in the aft direction a maximum of 0.06 inch.
(c)
Repair surface preparation to the seal depressor using Alodine 1200.
(d)
Install the seal retainer assembly with the steps that follow:
1) Adjust the position of the assembly keeping a seal compression of 1 to 10 percent for any inboard aileron position.

2) Make sure there is a minimum clearance of 0.05 inch between the retainer and the honeycomb core.
(e)
If the chafing damage is forward of the aileron front spar and the depth does not go completely through the outer 0.010-inch thick bonded skin, refinish the surface by applying Alodine 1200 and BMS 10-11, Type I.
