 S 864-003
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN PREVENT POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  
Supply hydraulic power (system No. 1 or 3 for left aileron, system No. 2 or 4 for right aileron) (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (4)  
Operate the control wheel to move the aileron to the full up position.

 (5)  
Remove hydraulic power (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (6)
Move the aileron to the full up position without hydraulic power.

 (a)  
With all the linkage connected, fully turn the aileron control wheel in the necessary direction for aileron movement.


 NOTE: The right aileron moves up if you turn the aileron
____ control wheel clockwise. The left aileron moves up if you turn the aileron control wheel counterclockwise.
 (b)  Manually push the aileron to the full up position.
 NOTE:____Two persons are necessary to do this task. You can also turn the aileron trim and feel mechanism quadrant to help you do the task.
 E. Remove the Inboard Aileron (Fig. 401)

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE TO USE PROTECTIVE MATS WHEN YOU DO THE WORK ON THE
_______ WING. THIS CAN PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE TRAILING EDGE PANELS.
 (1)  
Remove the inboard aileron.

 (a)  
Remove the applicable access panel(s) on the aileron leading edge to make it easier to disconnect the transmiter and to remove the reaction link bolt.

 (b)  
Disconnect the transmitter control rod from the aileron leading edge and safety the rod out of the way.

 (c)  Use a spanner wrench to remove the nut (41) from the dual load path bolt of the reaction truss link (40) (Fig. 401, Section A-A).
 NOTE: The antirotation plate holds the bolt when you remove
____ the nut. The inner bolt of the dual load path bolt must not move.
 (d)  
Remove the reaction link bolt (35).

 (e)  
Remove the attachment bolt of the power control package (28).

 (f)  
Disconnect the power package actuator piston (27) from the aileron (Fig. 401, Section A-A).

 (g)  
Remove the antirotation plates (30, 34), if it is necessary (Fig. 401, Section A-A).

 (h)  
Disconnect the bonding jumper (9).

 (i)  
Attach the hoist adapter, load positioner and applicable hoist to the aileron.

 (j)  
Balance the weight of the aileron and the adapter.

 (k)  
Remove the aileron hinge bolts (5, 11, 17, 26).


 NOTE: The inboard aileron weighs approximately 128 pounds.

 (l)  Move the aileron aft until it is clear of the wing structure.
