4) 180E21 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 4

Release the pressure from hydraulic systems (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Open the access panels of the hydraulic (573CB - left wing, 673CB -right) and the power control package (573AB and 573BB - left wing, 673AB and 673BB - right) in the lower surface of wing, forward of the aileron (AMM 06-09-08/201).

Procedure

(1)
Remove the check valves (Fig. 201, Section E-E and F-F):
(a)
Put a container below the power control package to catch fluid leakage.
(b)
Remove the retainer plug (59) or the retainer plate (61).
(c)
Put a rod with threads of 1/4-28UNF-3B into the hole at the end of the check valves (9 and 18).
(d)
Pull the check valves from the power control package.

E. Procedure

(1)
Install the check valve (Fig. 201):
(a)
Lubricate new backup rings (56, 58, 64, and 66), O-ring packings (57 and 65) and retainer plug (59) with assembly lubricant or hydraulic fluid.
(b)
Install backup rings (56, 58, 64, and 66) and O-ring packings (57 and 65) on the check valve (9 and 18).
(c)
Install the check valves (9 and 18) with the flow arrows pointed to the manifold.
