Use a spanner wrench to measure the friction torque of the nut.

Tighten the nut to 2250-2450 pound-inches more than the friction torque.

 If you use the inboard aileron rigging beam, do these steps:

 (a)  
Open the access panels (573AB, left, 673AB, right)
 (AMM 06-09-08/201).

 (b)  
Hold the rigging beam manually at WBL 461.5 below the aileron and the wing.

 Make sure the lower surface of the inboard aileron aligns with the lower surface of the wing trailing edge (use a tolerance of 0.25 inch) (Fig. 402).

If it is necessary, adjust the input control rod to align the aileron with the wing lower surface.
