 D. Prepare for Removal
 S 862-002
 (1)  
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Set the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - WING VALVE switches No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to SHUTOFF.

 (3)  
For the applicable system, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P180 DC Power Distribution Panel
 1) 180H7 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 1
 2) 180E6 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 2
 3) 180H22 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 3
 4) 180E21 LATERAL CONT VALV SYS 4

 (4)  
Do this task: "Hydraulic System Depressurization"
 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

 (5)  
Open the access panels of the hydraulic (573CB - left wing, 673CB -right) and the power control package (573AB and 573BB - left wing, 673AB and 673BB - right) in the lower surface of the wing, forward of the aileron (AMM 06-09-08/201).

Remove the Power Control Package


 NOTE: The reaction link is part of the assembly of the power control
____ package. The removal of the power control package includes the reaction link.
 It is not necessary to remove the power control package before you remove the reaction link. To do this, remove the reaction link pin through a hole in the hinge rib of the wing trailing edge.

 (1)  Remove the power control package (Fig. 201):

 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL NOT TO CHANGE THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE INPUT

 CONTROL ROD. IF THERE IS A CHANGE, A CHECK OF THE AILERON ADJUSTMENT IS THEN NECESSARY TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  
Remove bolt (19) and nut (21) to disconnect the control linkage (4) from the quadrant input control rod (22).

 (b)  
Move the control linkage (4) aft.

 (c)  
Move the inboard aileron to the up position.

 (d)  
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the pressure and return ports on the power control package.

 (e)  
Install the caps on the open lines and ports.

 (f)  
Remove nut (35) and washer (36) (Section A-A).


 NOTE: Use the antirotation plate (25) to hold the bolt (14).

 (g)  
Attach the sling and hoist assembly to the wing structure.

 (h)  
Attach the hoist to the power control package.

 (i)  
Use a spanner wrench to remove the reaction link bolt (13) and nut (31).

 (j)  
Remove nut (45) and nut (46) from the forward end of the power control package (Section B-B).

 (k)  
Remove the bolt (5) and bushings (38, 44, and 47) that attach the lower forward end of the power control package (11) to the vertical reaction link (3) (Section B-B).

 (l)  
Remove the nut (31) from the reaction link bolt (13) that attaches the aft end of the reaction link to the aileron (Section A-A).


 NOTE: The removal of the actuator link bolt is easier if you
____ first remove the access panel on the aileron leading edge.
 (m)  
Remove the antirotation plates (25 and 28) from the
 aileron (34) (Section A-A).


 (n)  
Remove the reaction link bolt (13) and the actuator attach bolt (14) that attach the reaction link to the aileron.

 (o)  
Use a hoist to move the power control package (11) aft and down to move it around the wing and aileron structure.


 S 492-009
 (2)  
Install the inboard aileron lock to prevent wind damage if the airplane is not in the hangar.

 (a)  
Attach the lock at the hard points on the wing and the aileron structure.
